The first information regarding the color of the Moldavian flag (including elements) comes from a book of documents published in Krakow in 1533: The grand flag had a red field on which was nicely painted with gold the coat of arms of Moldavia (banderim magnum sericeum, coloris rubri, in quo arma terrae Moldaviae pulhre auro depicta erant). Cele mai vechi informații cu privire la culoarea drapelului moldovenesc (inclusiv elementele acestuia) provin dintr-o carte cu documente publicată la Cracovia în 1533: „Steagul cel mare era de mătase, de culoare roşie, pe care erau pictate frumos în aur blazoanele Ţării Moldovei"("Banderium quoque magnum sericeum coloris rubri, in quo arma Terrae Moldauiae pulcre depicta erant"). Also, according to Chapter 10 Article 85 Paragraph 2,

The photographs of letters, deeds, documents of any kind, technical drawings and other similar papers shall not benefit from the legal protection accorded to copyright.

Therefore this image is assumed to be in the public domain worldwide, although some of the above categories may be subject to usage restrictions within Romania.
