العربية: مغارة هرقل موقع ذي أهمية أثرية وتاريخية وأسطورية، يقع على بعد 14 كيلومترًا (9 أميال) غرب طنجة برأس سبارطيل، شمال المغرب. المغارة طبيعية جزئيا ومصنوعة جزئيا، حيث قطع البربر العجلات الحجرية من جدرانها (كما تظهر آثار ذلك بشكل واضح في الصورة) وذلك لصنع أحجار الرحى، مما ساهم في توسيع حجم المغارة بشكل كبير. تعود تسمية المغارة إلى الإمبراطور هرقل للاعتقاد أنه نام في المغارة قبل أن يقوم بعمله الحادي عشر، والذي كان حصوله على التفاح الذهبي من حارسات حديقة هيسبيريديس.
Deutsch: Die Herkulesgrotte ist von archäologischer, historischer und mythologischer Bedeutung und befindet sich 14 Kilometer westlich von Tanger bei Kap Spartel im Norden von Marokko. Die Höhle ist zum Teil natürlichen Ursprungs und zum Teil durch Menschenhand entstanden, da die Berber hier Mühlsteine gewannen (wie in dem Bild zu erkennen), wodurch die Höhe wesentlich erweitert wurde. Der Name der Höhle erinnert an Herkules (bzw. Herakles), da dieser nach der Sage in der Höhle übernachtete, bevor er an die Lösung der 11. ihm gestellten Aufgabe (Pflücken der goldenen Äpfel aus dem Garten der Hesperiden) ging.
English: The Caves of Hercules are of archeological, historical and mythological significance and are located 14 kilometres (9 mi) west of Tangier in Cape Spartel, in the North of Morocco. The cave is part natural and part-made, as the Berber people cut stone wheels from its walls (as you can appreciate in the image) to make millstones, expanding the cave considerably. The name is dedicated to Hercules as he is believed to have slept in the cave before doing his 11th labour, which was to get golden apples from the Hesperides Garden.
Español: Las Cuevas de Hércules son un lugar de importancia arqueológica, histórica y mitológica situado a 14 km al oeste de Tánger en Cabo Espartel, al norte de Marruecos. La cueva es en parte natural y en parte artificial, dado que los bereberes obtuvieron ruedas de piedra de sus paredes (tal y como se aprecia en la imagen) para hacer muelas de molinos, expandiendo así la superficie de la cueva. El nombre de la cueva está dedicado a Hércules, pues según la leyenda durmió en ella antes de realizar su undécima tarea, que era obtener manzanas doradas del jardín de las Hespérides.
